Probes consist of one fibre that emits light from the laser/white light source into tissue (emission LF) and several detecting fibres (DF). The detecting fibre with the longest distance from the illuminating fibre measures most deeply.
For measurements in high depth of tissue particular big probes have been developed.

The vertical probe can be applied on tissue with a special cap.
Choose your probes by
The probes are connected to the O2C simply by plugging in one connector. No difficult connection of single fibres or screwing is necessary.
You can measure simultaneously with two different probes.
The probes have to be applied without pressure to avoid influence on microcirculation, but firm enough on the tissue to avoid movement artifacts.
Vertical probes can also be applied by tape or can be held by hand. The cap helps avoiding pressure by increasing application surface. The vertical probe can be used for application sites like deep wounds and the mouth, where the flat probe has no access.
